My #1 Valentine

Hello Bloglanders

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and Valentine's Day.  In the shops I see that all things Valentine are on sale today and the shelves already filled to the brim with Easter goodies. But I decided to show you what I made for Wynand  on Valentine's day.

A mini sticky note folder. Here you can see what I mean:

We use a lot of sticky notes in the office and they are all over the place. I didn't even buy new ones - just hunted down the stash and now it's all in one place, neatly filed away.

This "some bunny loves u" is my favourite stamp. I have used it on numerous occasions. While all the stamping goodies were out, I did a few more. They will go towards cards, tags and my Personal Planner.

My inspiration came from the SimonSaysStamp Wednesday challenge -
ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL
and I'm sure my little bunny folder will feel right at home over there. Hop over and see what the rest of Blogland did.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Have a GREAT week and please check back as we will have lots more fun here on Play as U GO.

Spots and Dots Mini Folder

Hello Bloglanders

Today I brought my "Spots and Dots" mini Folder to share:

Somebody once told me that nothing we do, is entirely our own idea - it always comes from another idea or inspiration.  This mini folder is the nearest I'll ever get to entirely my own idea.  At first, I only used office scrap paper, cut it to size and added the office binder, later I started adding cover pages and then I came up with the idea to make an entire cover and to decorate it.

I do make a lot of these and give it away as presents. It's so much more useful than a card and I decorate it as I would have a card and write a personal message on the first page to the lucky recipient. Best part is that you can recycle your stash and refill the folder once it's full. I do have stacks of these 6x4 papers ready to be used.

I showed how I make the folders here. If you can't figure it out, hop over and see my previous post and if you need more info, leave me a comment and I'll gladly share.

For this folder I used half a 12x12 sheet of cardstock (Simple Stories SNAP) for the cover, the die cuts are from iheartstudio and the XOXO is a die from Amy Tangerine cut from black craft foam. For a bit of dimension, I added a brad, a little heart on a pop dot and an ordinary office paperclip.

There you have it. Some recycling, a mini note folder and a personal message for a great friend. Thanks for visiting my blog and have a great day.

A "thank you" Mini Folder Card

Good morning Bloglanders

I hope you are having a Marvellous Monday!  Today I have a card to share.  Now, you know that I'm more of a letter / tag kind of girl but the whole family had to write "thank you notes" to my dad so we decided to do a card that works like a mini folder.

Here is the inside:

We wrote our notes on ordinary notebook paper and I stitched them in red thread to the inside of the "folder". The notes are different sizes as I love the dimension it gives.  "Dankie" (Thank you in Afrikaans) was done with my Silhouette. I planned the bottom notebook page that the "Date" that was pre printed, showed above the stack of notes and used my date stamp beneath it.

And on the outside it looks like this:

I used the same subway art that I made here. Just printed this one 6x4 to fit my "folder". As easy as that!

My dad received the card via snail mail (he doesn't do electronic media) and called yesterday to thank me for the beautiful card. Mission accomplished!!

That's it. I'm off to some more crafting fun.  Have a great day and thanks for looking at my blog today.

Tabbed mini inside pages

Good evening Bloglanders

It's Sunday evening in (not so sunny) SA.  We had a lot of rain over the weekend and it's icy cold.  We spent most of our time indoors.  I'm making a tablecloth for my dining room table and want to try my hand at a fabric bag for the upcoming summer.  I'll keep you posted!

As promised, the inside pages of my mini tabbed book.  Do you still remember what it looks like? The front page again:

If you missed the post, please click here. And these are my inside pages:

Once again, I only used scraps and offcuts from my desk.  I've already started to fill up the mini folder with pictures and journaling from a recent trip.  Of course, I'll share once it's done!

I came up with a very good idea for making the envelope style pages.  If you check back tomorrow I'll share my idea with you.  That's it from me. I'm off to watch the late night movie on TV with my hubby.  Have a great week and please come back to play.
