Happy V-Day

Hallo Bloglanders

I've been SO busy getting Valentine's Day orders out that I just did not get to Blogland. Sorry about that but I'll make it up by showing what I did.  First up, I customized cappuccino cups:

I cut some Vinyl with my Silhouette and transferred it to cups that we've been using for ages. (read all about it here) A quick fix for any occasion.  Sure, they will not withstand the dishwasher but that's fine - I actually don't want more "stuff" and try my best to use what I have on hand. Maybe I'll zuss them up with bunnies for Easter after Valentine's day. Perfect for IMPERFECT ME.

Meanwhile, Wynand and I love our custom made cappuccino cups and while I don't drink milk, I celebrated Valentine's day by adding a dollop of ice cream to my morning coffee. It looked yummy and tasted equally good.

Merry Christmas for Girls and Boys

Hi there Bloglanders

Just a quick post before you and I head off to a Wonderful Weekend.  Yes!!! I've started on my Christmas pressies and these are what's going to the little nephews and nieces: Cappuccino 4 one:

What makes this idea wonderful is that you can use the same idea for girls AND boys. I just tone down the decorations a bit for the boys.  I've used this idea before as gifts with cappuccino cups or coffee mugs.Check it out here and here. This time round I went with the current flavor of the month - JARS.  In Sunny SA - EVERYTHING gets packed in jars from fresh summer salads to puddings and stationary.  My jar is from Weck - what makes it wonderful is that it has a rubber seal on the lid and clips to hold everything in place. Also, no screw-on neck which means that you can drink / eat directly from the jar!  Did you know that there is a whole blog full of crafts with jars??? Wanna know what's inside my jar?

A single serving Cappuccino, marshmallows, an Oreo cookie and a teaspoon. I've done this with Hot Chocolate and even with instant soup and croutons.  Can't decide which one was more popular!

For embellishments I used a free cutting file from the Silhouette blog and as I said ........................ I did boy AND girl versions.  

I actually did a whole stack - this will be great to add to any Christmas pressies or even to envelopes, mini books, layouts and Christmas crackers.  I did use the offset function for my cutting line as I love having white around my titles - just makes it pop. Better even, I got all these holes in the die cut - no punching, just tread your twine or ribbon through.

Happy B-Day with my Silhouette.

Good morning Bloglanders.

I hope you had a fab weekend.  It was very cold and rainy in Sunny SA - we even had snow on the mountains.  I stayed indoors and did some crafting.

I had to make a birthday pressie for a little boy - never easy.  This is what I did:

I've made some "girly" ones before but this was my first go at a "boyish" look. It is a cappuccino cup filled with instant hot chocolate, marshmallows, chocolates, a heart shaped shortbread biscuit and a spoon. Everything you need for that perfect cappa.

Lucky me got a free apple cutting file from the Silhouette shop. I just added the message and everything were done in one go. The striped paper is ordinary, recycled gift wrap.  Cheap as you can get and I think it looks pretty good.

Just a note: these are perfect for fairs, bazaars or charity sales - first to sell out!
