Baby Bags

Good morning Bloglanders

It's very, very busy at Hamman HQ.  We are 2 months away from THE WEDDING and the rest of the world seems to be having babies.  As we have our own business, I did some "gifts from the heart" to give to all our "expecting" clients.

Here they are:

I used all my scrap fabric to make these  "little house bags", then packed it with a spare onesie, nappy, wet wipes and a little toy. Perfect for the new mum to tuck under her car's seat for emergencies!!

I did them X20 and we need more.  Did I tell you that the whole Sunny SA are having babies?? Maybe it's the sunshine!

I'm off to my (very) busy life. Thanks for visiting my blog today and please come back to play as I have lots more to share right here.

PS. Remember to try something new today!

Subway Art Gift Bag

Hallo Bloglanders

I'm on my way to Robertson to visit my oldest friend, Anél.  We grew up on neighbouring farms and have known one another since our mothers were pregnant together. She always says we know each other since womb days. Anél's birthday is in December and visiting her has become one of my December traditions. Today I'm sharing the packaging for her birthday gift:

I wrote something in Afrikaans about how grateful I am that she is my WONDERFUL friend and that I love her very much.  Inside is a home made gift but I'll share the gifts once she has opened it up. And here you can see the front and the back of the canvas bag:

And this is what I did: I made the canvas bag myself as I have lots of fabric scraps.  After I have formulated my Subway Art, I shaped and sized it in Silhouette Studio, cut it out of smooth pink heat transfer and ironed it on. As easy as that!  And ................................ remember to flip your image for heat transfer! You can see that I even added a little badge to the back of the bag with "handmade with (red heart) by Hazel".

I love how it turned out and I'm already thinking about making some more.

That's it from me. I'm off to Robertson but I'll be back tomorrow to share my Christmas Gingerbread House. Thanks for visiting my blog today and please come back to play as I have lots more to share right here.

Some more wine bags

Hallo Bloglanders

I told you yesterday that I'll be making some more wine bags for my wrapping station. Yes!  I do keep stuff ready for wrapping anything from buttons to wine and boxes of cookies. Whenever I have my tools out, I do some extra stamping, die cutting and sewing and when I need to pack something in a hurry, it's all there.  Here is a pic of the rest of the bags:

And the cards to go with:

Whenever I need one, I only have to add a sentiment and write the message. Normally I don't do earthy colors like these but The Play Date Cafe inspired me to try them and I love their "manly" look. I think my rosette stamp is from Jenny Bowlin, the die cut from Cottage Cutz and the little dove from Papertrey Inc.  I don't keep my stamps and dies in their packaging because it is not really important to me and therefor I can't track them back. Sorry about that! Maybe I should share my system some time. It really works for me.

I'm off to my Etsy order. Hopefully everything will be done by the weekend.  That's it from me. Please come back to play as I'll be sharing some more crafting fun right here on Play as U Go.

PS. The minute my orders are in the mail, I'm starting on my Xmas decor! You don't want to miss out.

Alternative packaging

Hi there Bloglanders

I had a wonderful weekend and finally stopped crying over the loss of my cat.  It was my birthday and my husband spoiled me with a weekend away. Today have been busy - trying to catch up on work, getting some creative stuff done and  the house and laundry up to date.

I had to deliver a pressie to a little girlfriend and even though I bought a stationary set, I decided to make a pink, flowery, fabric gift bag to go with. Here it is:

Sorry about the quality of my picture but my son borrowed my camera and I had to make do with my mobile phone. I really wanted to share with you before I gave it away.

Since this light depression hit me, I decided that I'll just keep myself busy and creative and things will eventually turn around.  So I've been making lists!

I plan to slipcover my living room furniture (over the years my cat has turned everything into needlepoint);   revamp my bedroom; do curtains for my dining room and kitchen and a blind for my son's flat.  You can watch this space - I have already printed the instructions for the slipcovers and plan to start on it over the coming weekend.  It's on Pinterest and you can find it here.  I'll report back right here if you want to see my progress.

These are just the big stuff. Of course I've got a long list of smaller projects starting with this jacket that I'll be making this week.

Maybe I'm a bit ambitious but I'll rather aim for the stars - at least I know I'll miss my toes.  That's it from me.  Please check back to see my progress.  Have a great week!
