Welcome to the first ever CSI Blog Hop!
We're showcasing our favorite craft storage or organization. The hop starts at Craft Storage Ideas so if you would like to start from the beginning head on over to CSI. There's lots of great giveaways all week long and several of the blogs are offering blog candy.
Here is my storage idea that I wanted to share with you:
I like my desktop to be clean and uncluttered and this carousel has been with me forever. On the left is what it originally looked like and on the right IMPERFECT ME's version.
And because this is our very first Blog Hop, I took pictures of every side and what's inside. That's a LOT of stuff!!
25 March. Someone sent me an email to ask what's in the middle part of my carousel. So, here it is: More "stuff":
Another email question: Yes, I did remove some of my bottom drawers. I stacked them on top of the open cubbies - now I have 3 spaces - the open shelf where the drawer used to be, a loose shelf on top where I keep things I want to move around (my double sided tape is in one of these) and #3: a "secret" cubby underneath where I keep blades, staples - things that are not used frequently.
My carousel is from Making Memories but I can't find them anywhere in Blogland but here is something similar. Want to try your hand at making your own? I featured this one over at Craft Storage Ideas - it's well worth a visit and a try.
Wanna win something?? Just leave me a comment on this post and all this "Evaliciousness" could be yours. You have to tell me which storage item you use most and a random winner will be announced here on my blog on Saturday. Brand new, unopened and shipped directly from the shop to you!

PS. If you want to know something, ask in the comments or send me an email and I'll add it to my post. Seems that a lot of you have carousels like these but underutilize it. I would love to explain if you can't figure it out from my pictures.
I have this storage piece and love your ideas. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteYes, my favorite is also this carousel, but mine is in black...love it! Thanks for the chance to win some goodies!:-)
ReplyDeleteLove how you have personalized the carousel! My most used item is the drawer bases from IKEA that support my desktop, could not live without them!
ReplyDeleteLove how you organized the carousel, Hazel. I love the magnetic sheets that I store my dies on.
ReplyDeleteI love my scrap rack which makes finding all of my stuff so easy!
ReplyDeleteWOW that little carousel holds a lot of tools! Thank you for sharing your organization tip.

Love how you personalized this. So cute! My favorite storage is my metal carousel with 4 tiers. Wow, does it hold a ton of stuff! I went to the hardware store with my hubby and when he saw me drooling over this, he just made me buy it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea! Also thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteMy oh My, you get a lot more in your carousel than I do, I think I better rethink mine again, and I have 3 of them. I should be well prepared for anything. Thanks for sharing and the change to win a wonderful package of goodies.
ReplyDeleteI have one of these carousels too and it is my most used item! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI have this on my scrap table but it has never looked as organized as yours. You've now inspired me to organize it. Love the way you've put your personal touches on it. Must try.
ReplyDeleteWow!! Awesome post!! I love how you show everything that goes in each slot!! Nice decorating too!!
ReplyDeleteHi Hazel, I'm also from South Africa, would I qualify for the giveaways too? I am crazy about CSI!
ReplyDeleteSure, it's open for all. I hate being excluded in giveaways and freebies - will never do that to anyone!!
DeleteOh my word, you should see my carousel! I always laugh when the companies show the neat little storage units with a few bits and bobs neatly stacked inside. My carousel is stuffed to the gills and I'm still finding creative ways to find space in it, lol. Im in the lengthy process of redecorating my craft room so this blog hop couldn't have come at a better time, as I need all the storage help I can get! Off I hop. Lee x
ReplyDeleteAren't carousels great?! I'm ASTONISHED at how much stuff you have in there and have kept it so neat. I never thought to kind of "hang" my Zutter corner rounder off the side, thus saving some room for more stuff! inside. Every little bit helps!
ReplyDeleteThanks and best wishes,
Mary
Great idea thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI use antique vases and bowls to organize my buttons and "do-dads".
ReplyDeleteI love my carousel too, I got one from Micheals, I also love my big jars for ribbon and brads
ReplyDeleteI love jewelry holders---little felt lined trays---in a rolling storage cart. They and the cart go with me everywhere!
ReplyDeletethose caddies seem to hold a lot of supplies.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and ideas. TFS
ReplyDeleteThat sure can hold a lot of stuff.
ReplyDeleteWow, had no idea those would hold so much. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow, I have one of these and i had no idea it would hold this much stuuf. I am going to have to take a second look at it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite storage is my clip it up. It makes me able to keep all of my stickers in their packaging.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your storage idea! I like how that small gadget can hold so much stuff!!
ReplyDeleteSmall and compact-love it
ReplyDeleteMy favorite storage is something similar to yours -- I use a Pampered Chef kitchen utensil carousel to hold all the things I use most! Yours is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat holds a lot!!!
ReplyDeleteI use a Pampered Chef carousel that is a similar idea but I don't think it holds near as much as yours does!!!

I just purchased the Micheals version of the carousel and was amazed at how much it holds.

I think I can do almost same thing with turntable from Michaels!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much stuff you got in there! I have to rethink mine. What a great way to keep those little things close by. alfwilk@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI need one!
ReplyDeleteI probably use my carousel the most. Looking at your post - I haven't utilized its full potential though. I can't believe all the stuff you manage to pack in there! Thanks for sharing~
ReplyDeleteI can't live without my iris cases! They hold all my papers and kits together and are great to bring to a crop! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI use a lot of small plastic shoebox size bins. I have some for embellishments, and I have one with the things I'm currently working with/planning to use so I can cart them around the house with me as I am a nomadic crafter.
ReplyDeleteI love the carousel also but I think I'm grossly under using mine. I still have way too much clutter when I'm trying to find work space. I think my biggest problem is out of sight out of mind and I forget what I have or similar things don't get put together because of space issues.
ReplyDeleteI really need to get a carousel!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome ideas...love all your goodies.
ReplyDeleteLove how you personalized this.
ReplyDeleteI use my Expedit, love it... and a PB carousel that is on my desk... and another Ikea cart that holds all my bling and stickers, every day!
ReplyDeleteWow that caddy holds a lot I don't own one but I love the way you've used yours :) one day I might get one
ReplyDeletehave one of these and love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you showed us what you keep in your round thingy. I have one and just keep it stuffed. I really liked how your organized it and I will do mine tomorrow. Thanks again for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar caddy, but I really need to clean it out. There are so many things stuffed into it that I don't even use. I think I need to empty it out and fill it with the things I reach for most often. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteAgain I wanted to say thanks for all the pictures which have really helped me to clean out mine. I was amazed at all the "stuff" I had put in there. Some duplicates, too. Wonder why I'm always buying something new when I already have two of them IF I could find them. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI really do need one of these carousel!!
ReplyDeleteI have one of these but mine is not near as full as yours. I think I need to reorganize and "decorate" it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to use the carousel, can't wait to reorganize mine and fill it with more STUFF!
