Leftover magic

Good morning Bloglanders

Finally, it's weekend!! I'm just checking in to show what I did with a leftover die cut from this set. I used most of it to do this layout:

You know me - waste not, want not. SO, the "overlefts" were just right for my "IDEES" notebook. (Idees = Ideas).  I always keep one on hand - to write notes, links, I even add pictures when I want to scraplift. And here she is:

I used a shop bought notebook, added the die cut, a brad and a glitter foam title.  No mess, no fuss and something have been used that would have ended up in my scrap bin.

This is such an easy way to pretty up notebooks. I think I'll be doing some more for my pressie stash and for my DIY friends I'm going to pack everything in kit form. Watch this pace and all will be revealed!!

That's it from me. I'm working on a "hanging bow" for our Princess. Ever heard of it??? Me neither but trust my funky daughter-in-law to come up with bright, new ideas. I'll show my version in my Sunday Summary. Just check back.

Have a great day and weekend. Thanks for looking at my bloggie and see U soon.

Sunday Summary Week 38

Hi there Bloglanders

Happy belated Sunday to you all!!  And I'm back to report on last week. It's hectic at Hamman HQ. My parents came to visit. Mum hates cooking so I had to do my bit.  I think I unloaded my dishwasher X3 a day!!

AND Wernich came home for the weekend as a friend got married. And the couple and the bride's beautiful dress:

And  my wonderful son and his beautiful "date":

Pieter's Princess asked me to make her a dress exactly like her bridesmaid dresses. Remember, I've done them X8 for THE WEDDING??? Well, now I've done them X9!! And as she is allergic to wheat, I made and packed food for the weekend - all wheat free. Mini quiches, pies, meatballs, sticky chicken wings, muffins and some cookies.  It actually turned out very well. I'll do the quiches again and post the recipe here.

And then Pieter and his Princess surprised me with this:

A HUGE bunch of all my fave flowers and colours.

And as a wedding pressie, we gave money.  I did make a tag to personalize the gift:

I used shop bought tags, painted it with chalkboard paint and embellished it. To the back I added a glassine envelope for the money. Love it!! And my crafting companion - my neighbor's cat:

To free up space for my parents, Wynand and I finally moved to our new bedroom. We've been renovating for the past few months and everything is not finished BUT the room is beautiful.  I had to rush to get blinds made and up.  HUGE job but it's done.  These are the colours and fabric I chose:

I will do a separate post on my new blinds once everything is finished.  In the end IMPERFECT ME will probably add a bit of mauve or purple to the grey. But for now, I love the minimalistic look of my new grey and white bedroom.

In front of the new "suite" we have a beautiful courtyard and this is what I wake up to now:

Our previous room didn't have much of a view - now we can even see the beautiful Stellenbosch mountains when we wake up. Once the interior is sorted, I'm going to tackle the courtyard.

Did you see my "pegboard love" over at Craft Storage Ideas?? If you missed out, here is the link. And a sneak peek:

There you have it. Another busy week at Hamman HQ. I'm not sure that I'll get a lot of crafting done in the next week as I still have to do a lot of sewing for the new bedroom, the office is busy, busy, busy and we have a public holiday on the 24th. It's Heritage Day but unofficially we call it "braai day".  So, we will be outside enjoying the sun, good wine and a barbecue. I'll be back to tell you all about it - just check back.

Thanks for looking at my blog today - have a Wonderful Week and remember to try somethin new.

Sunday Summery Week 31

Hello Bloglanders

I know!!! It's Monday BUT I just didn't get time to put up my post over the weekend.  And this is what kept me SO busy:

My daughter-in-law's kitchen tea. Isn't she the most beautiful princess ever??  Her mom organized it - and it was SUPER beautiful.  It was a Mad Hatters party held at a beautiful hotel in Stellenbosch, ASARA.

As the princess is allergic to wheat, all the food had to be wheat free.  The hotel managed to put up a beautiful and tasteful spread.

I dressed up as a witch, looked really awful and made this gift box with my Silhouette to match the theme:

Want a peek inside?

I got the smallest notes available, rolled them into cigars and ta-da ......................... daughter-in-law can buy whatever she wants and I didn't even have the trouble to shop for a gift card / present / wrapping paper.

Now for the BIG news!!! Remember I told you here that I'm auditioning for the Scrap-a-Doodles Design Team??? Well ........................ (drum roll) ........................... I'm one of the 10 finalists in the final round!! Now I have to submit 2 tutorials of craft projects but you know me, I can't decide between my children and my head is buzzing with new ideas.

I think I'll have a walk in the park to think things over BUT you will be the first to know ................. just keep checking back and all will be revealed right here on Play as U Go.

That's it from me. Thanks for coming to play today! Have a wonderful week and remember to try something new.

Princess Pressie

Hello Bloglanders

We are having a long weekend down under in Sunny SA and both my boys are home for a few days. Therefore, I'll only be back in Blogland on Sunday and next week ............................ we are having a Bloghop for Craft Storage Ideas. Make sure you check back and not to miss the fun and freebies.

BUT, before I sign off - here is my pressie for the princess:

I can't believe it was a year ago that she got engaged to my son!! By this time next year she will be Mrs Hamman #2 or maybe she will be #1 and I'll downgrade / upgrade to 2.  We both love cats so I bought cat gift wrap for her present.  Too ordinary for IMPERFECT me ................................ I named the cats and printed their names and little hearts in speech bubbles with my Silhouette. I also cut the word "princess" to add extra glamour to my tag.

She loved it so much that it will become the background paper for her birthday layout in her PL album!!

And here is a pic I snatched off her FB page:

I love personalized gift wrap!!

That's it. I'm off to my LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG weekend with the family. Have a great day and please come back to see what's next on my craft table.  Remember the CSi Bloghop - you don't want to miss out!

Bye
Hazel

Princess Confetti

Hallo Bloglanders

And here we are!! A brand new year.  I wish for you all the best but above that to have FUN .............. may 2014 be your best year EVER.

It's going to be hectic for me - especially August. I'm having a big birthday and less than a week later Pieter and the Princess are getting married.  For the first time in my life, I'm planning a birthday party and everything for the wedding is en route.  This brings me to today's post. The confetti for the wedding is going to be little hearts and crowns (for our very own Princess of Hearts) and I've started on the stash. Want an exclusive peek?

I couldn't decide if the heart should go on the back or the front of the twine. Maybe you can help by leaving me a comment ???????.

This is SO me - I have 7 bridesmaid's dresses and a wedding dress to make so I thought I'd do the confetti by punching out half a cut of shapes every day. At least that would get one of my "to do's" done by the end of February.

And this is my work in process pictures:

I'm using twine from The Twinery, the punches are from EK Success and the little glassine envelopes come from Monika's "I love it all" Etsy shop.

Lucky me have a friend with 3 crafty kids and they were all  issued with punches and old books to help. I call my friend Marelize the head of the confetti team - if you want to get something done, ask her and boy, can she mobilize those girls!!!

There you have it - "Princess  confetti" under-way!

Thanks for looking at my blog today.  Please check back and I'll share some more of my crafty projects. Have a Fab Friday!!

Hazel

PS. Just remembered - I'll have to make something for myself to wear to the wedding as well and oh, gosh, the birthday party  .......................... I'll think about it tomorrow.
